See How the First-Ever Chevy Silverado EV Stacks Up Against Another All-Electric Truck, the Ford F-150 Lightning

Across the New York City metro, it's important to have a truck that's as capable as it is efficient. Introduce yourself to all-electric trucks like the first-ever Chevrolet Silverado EV. This fully electric truck has the muscle and expansive range to simplify long towing trips.

The 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV is the latest pure-electric pickup to join EV truck options, but how does the Silverado compare to one of its top competitors like the Ford F-150 Lightning? Clifton customers need to know how these all-electric trucks fare against each other to make the right buying decision. Count on Hawthorne Chevrolet, where you can reserve the all-new Chevy Silverado EV after comparing these all-electric pickups.

Chevrolet Silverado EV vs. F-150 Lightning Charging

Recharging the Chevrolet Silverado EV is faster and easier, as Clifton drivers can add 100 miles of range every 10 minutes at DC Fast Charging stations around Newark and the New York City metro. In the same window, the Ford F-150 Lighting adds 55 miles of range. New Jersey drivers can also recharge their Silverado EV overnight at their home in Hawthorne with a Level 1 or Level 2 Charger.

Chevrolet Silverado EV vs. F-150 Lightning Range

If you're towing from Paterson to Long Island or down the Atlantic Coast, the Chevrolet Silverado EV can take you there. This pure electric pickup boasts an impressive 400 miles of all-electric range, meaning New Jersey drivers shouldn't have to recharge until the job is done. This battery range is much better than the Ford F-150 Lightning, which can only travel 300 miles. The Lightning's standard battery pack travels only 230 miles.

Chevrolet Silverado EV vs. F-150 Lightning Utility

We know Newark drivers sometimes have long objects to haul around New York City. Thanks to the innovative Multi-Flex Midgate, they'll get more assistance from the Chevrolet Silverado EV's truck bed. This allows objects up to 10 feet long to pass through the truck's load stop and the Multi-Flex Tailgate.

Other objects up to nine feet long have another home with help from the 60/40 flip-and-fold seat. That way, cargo can rest in the 71-inch truck bed.

Electric vehicles have frunks, a front-end trunk. Both frunks for the Ford F-150 Lightning and Chevrolet Silverado EV can handle additional payloads. While full specs have yet to be released, the frunk for Chevrolet's EV appears roomier than the Lightning's 14.1 cubic feet.

Chevrolet Silverado EV vs. F-150 Lightning Capability

Tow more with the Chevrolet Silverado EV, which can trailer up to 20,000 pounds. Base models for Chevrolet's all-electric truck can tow 10,000 pounds, matching the Ford F-150 Lightning's maximum towing capacity.

The Chevrolet Silverado EV also produces more power. Achieve 660 ponies and 780 pound-feet of torque driving the Silverado EV, topping the Lightning's performance ratings of 563 horsepower and 775 pound-feet of torque.

Chevrolet Silverado EV vs. F-150 Lightning Design

The Ford F-150 Lightning doesn't feature the same attractive design elements as the Chevy Silverado EV, which shows off a panoramic fixed glass roof, modern lighting, and 24-inch aluminum wheels. Ford's all-electric truck doesn't use the all-new Ultium battery platform. This platform gives the all-electric Silverado more force, flexibility, and power.

Chevrolet Silverado EV vs. F-150 Lightning Safety & Technology

Tow hands-free across the New York City metro with the Chevrolet Silverado EV's Super Cruiseâ„¢ Driver Assistance Technology. While the Lightning offers several driver assists with Ford Co-Pilot360â„¢ 2.0, the Silverado has the standard Chevy Safety Assist suite with:

  • Automatic Emergency Braking
  • Front Pedestrian Braking
  • Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning
  • Forward Collision Alert
  • IntelliBeam® High Beam Assist
  • Following Distance Indicator

A larger screen gives Clifton drivers more convenient access, as the Silverado EV's 17-inch diagonal free-form screen tops the Lightning's 15.5-inch portrait touchscreen. Ford's EV features SYNC® 4 Infotainment, while the Chevy Silverado EV includes Google built-in connectivity.
